How Long Will it Take My Back to Get Healthy?

There definitely are answers to that question. If you wanted to get to a certain level of health, for you particularly, there is a certain period of time and a certain amount of energy you’re going to need to get to that level. But the more important is, if you go about your day today and you make the best health decisions, will you be more healthy than you were yesterday? Hopefully you said yes…if not, awkward…

If you string together multiple days in a row of making those healthy decisions, over time would you begin to be healthier, have more energy, have less aches and pains, etc.? Again hopefully you said yes. If not, this is starting to get REALLY awkward.

And so, who cares how long it takes, when every step along the way is massively important and is a step along the journey to getting those rewards? I know, I know – that sounds like a classic millennial “It’s not about the results, it’s about the experiences along the way” rubbish, and I’m as results-oriented as the next guy. But at the same time, the options are either to 1) keep going down that path of making the most progress you can on any given day, or 2) get off that path. For that reason, the most practical way to go about getting those results is to be focused on your day-to-day actions in the short term, while simultaneously being patient with the fruits of that labor in the big picture.

The other problem with looking for the answer to “how long does it take to get healthy” is that it assumes that there’s an end-point, and that once you get to that end-point you’re going to stop. Not only is that the complete opposite approach of how the most healthy people go about their lives, but also it’s likely that once you start seeing the benefits of what being pain-free, healthy, and full of energy can offer, you’re going to want to invest in your health even MORE!

As far as chiropractic rehab goes, often times people come into the office with full-fledged injuries that really do require attention to get back to working order. And depending on the nature of that injury, how long it’s been there, what tissues are injured,  etc., there’s usually an expected timeline to get maximum healing – could be weeks, could be months. But chiropractic maintenance care goes hand-in-hand with a healthy lifestyle, and the people that get the best long-term results have built ever-so-often maintenance adjustments into their health plan for helping to work with the stress in their lives!
